Our Values and Mission
Our core values and mission are integral to our approach to early years education. These principles guide our daily practices and interactions, ensuring that each child receives the highest standard of care and learning opportunities.
Safety and Well-being
We prioritise creating safe, secure, and healthy environments where children can thrive. Our spaces are designed to be welcoming and nurturing, allowing them to explore and learn confidently. We adhere to stringent health and safety policies to ensure the well-being of every child in our care.
Inclusivity and Diversity
We celebrate the individuality of each child. We are committed to fostering an inclusive environment that respects each of them. Our practices are designed to ensure that all children, regardless of their background or abilities, feel valued and included in all activities.
Play-Based Learning
We believe that children learn most effectively when they are active participants in their own learning journey. By following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, we ensure that children develop across all areas of learning through engaging, play-based methods.
Respect & Empathy
Teaching children to understand and appreciate others is central to Bright Bees. Our intergenerational project, which builds relationships between our preschool children and local care home residents, exemplifies our commitment to fostering empathy and community awareness.

Stay Connected with the Famly App
At Bright Bees, we use the Famly app to keep you involved in your child’s day — from daily updates and photos to messaging your nursery team and checking learning journals. It’s safe, simple, and designed with families in mind.
Our Approach to Education
Child-led, play-based learning
Aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, our curriculum supports language development, problem-solving, and social skills, ensuring a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Our child-led, play-based learning activities are carefully planned to encourage discovery, creativity, and engagement.
Strong transition support for school readiness
Preparing children for the transition to formal schooling is a vital aspect of our programme. Their progress is closely observed across these seven key areas of development:
Prime Areas
- Personal, Social, and Emotional Development
- Communication and Language
- Physical Development
Specific Areas
- Literacy
- Mathematics
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
Focus on outdoor learning and risk-taking
At Bright Bees Nursery Group, we place a strong emphasis on outdoor learning and risk-taking, recognising their significant benefits to a child’s development. Our approach is designed to foster resilience, confidence, and a deep connection with the natural world.
We incorporate Forest School sessions into our curriculum, providing children with opportunities to engage with the natural environment. Activities under supervision encourage children to assess and take appropriate risks, building their confidence and decision-making skills.
Our outdoor area enhances children’s stamina and core strength, contributing to improved concentration and fine motor skills. This environment also positively impacts mental well-being by encouraging social interaction and fostering happiness.
